Gratitude - Lifelong and Beyond

Almost 20 years ago, we were shown a 2.7-acre lot in Buckridge. Once, long ago, it had had a homestead on it. We could see the layered limestone foundation. But in recent memory, it was simply one of the last lots in the association which had not yet had a house built. We were very interested, and Sherry's grandparents, Dean & Evelyn Lyon, offered to loan us the money to buy it. Since then, we've been repaying the loan -- refinancing at least once -- but always looking forward to this month, when we would make our final payment.

Evelyn went to God five years ago or so, but she was always happy to have helped us get our home started. Dean is still living in his home, and this past weekend we visited him to hand him the final check.

I will be grateful for their trust and support for as long as I live, and I truly appreciate the chance to have finished repaying the loan to at least one of them.
