Game 1 is in the books - sigh

Game 1 vs. the Hated Yankees, the Minnesota Twins put Francisco Liriano on the mound, opposite the former Brewer C.C. Sabathia.

Liriano was great, right up until he wasn't. CC was not invulnerable. The game could have gone either way. But it went the way these things always have gone over the past few years. Twins get a lead. Yankees take it back. Pitchers who have been excellent for the Twins fall apart looking at those NY logos. (Yes, Jesse Crain, I'm talking about you.)

Twins - 4; Yankees - 6

As bad as it was to watch a loss, it was made worse by these "national" announcers who talk as if they are buddies with the Bronx Bombers. Though they at least said nice things about Joe Mauer, they call him "Mauer," but they call Mark Teixeira "Tex", and Mariano Rivera "Mo."

Oh, how I hope Carl Pavano can make the pinstripes pay!
