Sorry if you're not a football fan, but this season I simply have to spend some Mondays exclaiming about my favorite team!
As season ticket holders, we were able to purchase our season ticket locations for this playoff game, and also purchase an extra ticket for each season ticket. We did, and took our wives -- though Dad took my brother instead of Mom, so I got to share a Vikings game with him, which is great! Sitting next to Sherry watching a complete domination was a nice bonus.
For the first few drives, it looked like the Cowboys might be able to run the ball on the Vikings defense, mixing in an outlet pass to Jason Witten whenever they needed it. Then, something happened. Adjustments were made, or the purple defensive line started wearing on the 'boys o-line, or the Cowboys coaches out-thought themselves, or something. Before the first half was over, though I was not certain of the outcome, we had a 17-3 lead and things felt pretty good.
Once the game was over, we just couldn't stop enjoying it, so we went out to dinner together -- all eight of us plus Eric's family, and kept up the good feeling.
This is, of course, why the Vikings brought Brett Favre in, and clearly, why he accepted.
For my money, the season was successful at 12-4 & a 2-seed.
This is gravy, and it's really satisfying gravy!
But hey, now that we're eating our gravy, how about a second helping in New Orleans!
And then, dare we hope, dessert in Miami!
