Goodbye, Doug

A very personal blog entry today, folks.

Doug, my brother-in-law, died today, a result of injuries suffered when he fell and hit his head.

Doug was married to Sherry's sister, Dawn. Just two months ago, we celebrated Dawn & Doug's 25th anniversary. A couple of the photos from this entry were from that event.

Doug was a wonderful character. He was gruff, but mostly in a teasing way. He was a fun uncle to our kids. He didn't like pretense at all. Though his life was filled with medical issues, he didn't spend time complaining. He was generous, liked the same kind of TV shows I did, and was always easy to talk to. I've basically known him for as long as I've known any of Sherry's family.

We'll miss him.
