It Hurts

When my children have frustrations, bad experiences, difficulties, I just want to jump in and make things better.

But, of course, I can't. I can't reverse time. I can't induce personality changes in other teenagers.

All I can do is offer sympathy and support.

Yes, this too shall pass. But it hurts until it does.
