Exhiliration

I was one of millions who watched the US Men's Swimming team win the 4x100 Freestyle two nights ago. What an event! Did you see it?

If you are one of those people who are simply opposed to sports, I guess you didn't watch it, and don't care.

But if you can appreciate the drama of competition, if you can empathize with people who have greater physical abilities than anyone you're ever likely to know, if you can recognize their humanity and accept them as real people through whom you can experience greatness vicariously, then maybe you enjoyed that amazing race as much as I did when Lezak swam the race of his life and out-touched the French racer for the gold.

It's been a fun Olympics, with many great moments. So far, that was the most exhilirating.
