Leah called last night. She is having a great time at her Performing Arts summer program. She's more convinced than ever that she wants to do keep dancing and acting. She has met some great people, and truly enjoys the hard work they are doing as they put together a show from scratch.
As I listened to her, and then overheard the conversations she was having with Sherry and Sarah, it was quite clear how happy she is. Her happiness made me happy.
Reason #8 for having children: The happiness in their lives becomes happiness in your own life. Vicarious or not, Happiness is Happiness.
