Movie Micro-Reviews: Edition 97

Liberal Arts
65
Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother) writes, directs and stars in a story examining the transition from college student to adulthood, the meaning of “liberal arts” in life, and finding your place in the world.  Not fancy, but I liked it. Trouble? The main characters were quite consistent until one point in the story, when they both went wrong.  I didn’t believe it, and I think the story could have had the same lessons, with a better emotional satisfaction, with a better choice.
Total Recall (2012)

As a remake, a success. The story was marginally similar, but different enough to keep us guessing.  It wasn’t as surprising as the original, but better acted.  (Colin Ferrell is an actor.  Arnold?  Yeah, not so much.)
Man of Steel

Deserves a longer review.  (Later today.) Action packed, with some interesting takes on the Superman origin.  But.  A big “but.”
