Quote - Morals

Never let your sense of morals get in the way of doing what's right.
- Isaac Asimov

Clever. That Asimov guy was pretty smart, you know. And insightful.

If you don't believe your morals can get in the way of doing the right thing, then I hope your morals place a high value compassion.

Smart yes, moral no. The bottom line there would be what YOU believe is right, which of course would allow Hitler to be "moral".

The standard version is "if it feels good, do it".

Man's moral compass is as wrong as I hope the compass on this ship is right!

Bill, Bill, Bill -- do you go out of your way to try to disagree with me?

There are moral codes in the world to which people subscribe ("man's moral compass" in your words) which lead them to do wrong.

Asimov says that's a bad thing.

Your comment says basically the same thing, but is calling Asimov non-moral? Immoral? Amoral?

If following your morals causes you to do wrong, then don't follow them.

How is that "smart yes, moral no?"

Enjoy your trip.
