Mannhiem Steamroller Christmas - the Concert

Sherry and I attended the Mannheim Steamroller concert on Saturday December 19 at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester.

I have been looking forward to this concert for months, and I'm so glad we got the tickets.

The performers are tremendously talented, of course, but they are also fun to watch. And the show also included projected images that went along with the music. For example, there was a set of their pieces from the early albums which are very Renaissance in nature, so the screens were showing a feast in a court from around 1490. The mood was great.

I can't believe how many instruments their percussionists played! The drummer was amazingly energetic. The violin player was dramatic and expressive.

It was a great evening of great music. And Chip Davis himself came out to sing for the encore performance of "Silent Night."
