For the entire month of January, Rochester has not been above freezing. In fact, for most of the month it's been significantly below that. [Brrrr!]
Well, it turns out that since 1900, there have only been five Januarys that remained entirely freezing. So, if we are able to do that again, it would be the first time since the 1970's, and only the fourth time in over 100 years.
Saturday is threatening to get close to 30.
For most of the month, of course, I was one of the millions wishing for warmer weather. But now, when we're in striking distance of a "record" of sorts, I find myself pulling for the first melt to happen in February.
Yeah, it's cold. But this is Minnesota. If we're going to be cold, let's do it right!
