That's a Python Wrap

Just under a year ago, I bought the complete "Monty Python's Flying Circus" set. Sunday, I finished watching the final episodes.

I continue to be impressed that a mere 45 episodes could have such a large effect. There are so many people who know Python, yet there were four short seasons!

The boxed set contains two extra disks, one of which contains the "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" performance I've never seen (but which contains the "Philosophers' Song" and [I think] "The Four Yorkshiremen") so I look forward to seeing that sometime.

I imagine someday I will be able to digitize any (and all) of the episodes and then bookmark my favorite sketches for viewing whenever I want. Until then, it's been great to see all that silliness, from start to finish.

Oh, and for the record, Series 4 was still worth seeing. Yes, the loss of John Cleese was a blow, and the sketches seem somewhat incomplete without his particular brand of High England Idiocy, but the rest of the troupe is plenty zany. And, it seems to me, Carol Cleveland got more screen time; which is nice.
