Excellent music. A “fairy
tale” with a modern approach to relationships, love and princesses.
Definitely worth owning.

Sci-fi allows us to examine
aspects of humanity very directly. Here: classes and labels. Broadly done,
visually interesting, with a few well-considered surprises.

If you’re going to retell a well-known story,
decide what points you’re trying to make. Some enjoyable additions (e.g. the
Watchers). The effects were great. The acting was good. But if the directors
had an ultimate point to make, it got muddled.

The world will end in three
weeks. What do you do? We see many different and believable answers swirl
around Steve Carell’s character as he deals with the void his life has
become. It was OK.

You’re a teenage boy. Your parents are not getting along. You meet a
stranger who has given up everything for the love of a woman. Which way do
you turn? What do you learn? Really
liked this one.

Wow! Such a good comic book
movie! OK, if you had not seen the
previous movies, maybe you’d be a little lost. But, of course, I HAVE seen them, and this
movie is a fantastic result. Heroes with big egos fighting each other –
because that happens in comics all the time!
Heroes dealing with their personal issues, both as strengths and
weaknesses – a Marvel hallmark. And
action-upon-action. Yet none of it
would make the movie great without the humor.
So much humor! Loved it!

The Ideas, Opinions and Musings of Steven T Will. My most frequent topics are movies, games and learning. Oh, and I like to share photos. But since I try to post most weekdays when I'm not on vacation, I delve into other things too: religion, words, news items, quotes. And then, on occasion, I post snippets and wisps. Welcome, and enjoy!

Want to see Mud; loved Frozen. Friend not sure. Best end of the world ever: Melancholia.
